Reputation Management Scammer William Stanley of ReputationMatrix.com and a couple dozen other names was sentenced to over 3 years in federal prison for extortion

William Stanley of ReputationMatrix.com Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

Back in 2008-2012 there was one company online causing a major disruption in the Reputation Management industry; they went by the name Reputation Matrix and ran more of a Reputation Extortion mob than anything else.

Many Reputation Management Companies like ours were also victimized by this guy William Stanley and his nasty business practices. Reputation Matrix and it’s owner would create fake online complaints about many reputable reputation management firms in order to make his company seem more legit or level the playing field for his schemes. He would go online and file fake complaints about all sorts of competitors. There were over 100 complaints files against Reputation Defender during William Stanley’s rampage, he would then copy the complaints and replace the company name with another reputation management company, so essentially he filed the exact same claim against 8 or so different reputation companies. The boldest move that Stanley made is when one day he thought it would be a good idea to copy ReputationArmor.com’s entire website and use our name to conduct shady business, we quickly had the site taken down by Google using the DMCA removal process, the DMCA notice is still available to read online. This William guy would pose as our company and get payments online then rip people off… We had most of his web properties pretending to be us removed from the internet. We only operate under our main domain name ReputationArmor.com. Since he used our name in his nasty business we had to negotiate the removal of misdirected complaints about our brand. This is an example of how a good company that tries to really help clients can suffer because of a bad company using their name or brand online. We were victims of this guy and his scams. Protect your brand online and keep an eye on who is using the likeness of your name.

The boldest move this company made was when a company needing reputation help would contact them or reply to their offers for reputation management they would charge the companies $1500-$3000 for service then do nothing for them, if the company complained, Stanley would threaten to make matters worse for them online if they didn’t back off. If a company contacted them and did not sign-up, Reputation Matrix and Stanley would create nasty pages about them online and contact them and ask for money to remove it. He was causing the problem then offering the paid solution.

William Laurence Stanley a Former Texas Resident with ties to Romania, 53, owned a reputation management company that claimed to improve companies’ online reputations. Stanley was ordered to pay $174,888 in restitution to a dozen victims he extorted, including a Dallas-based firm, federal authorities said. He was also sentenced to 3 years and 1 month in prison for his shoddy business practice. Reports state that Stanley extorted at least 40 victims (that came fwd) and one company sent him over $29,000.00 after they called the FBI.

Locksmith Reputation Management

Locksmith Complaint Removal

Do yo own a locksmith company or know someone that does? Chances are they may have some negative complaints or reviews about them ranking high on search engines. Locksmiths perform a noble service for middle class pay and they really really do have to deal with some pretty emotional people every day. Sometimes locksmiths get overwhelmed and may come across rude and this can cause someone to pop a bad review for them online. Also locksmiths sometimes quote one price on the phone and switch it when they arrive to a higher amount, sometimes this is warranted and sometimes it is a bait and switch locksmith scam.

banner_bgwow

One big problem is the locksmith industry is very competitive and competitors can leave false reviews for others in an effort to win more business. This happens all the time.

The bottom line is we help locksmiths all the time with controlling negative content on Google. We can help you remove bad reviews, complaints, and more. We offer locksmith reputation repair and reputation management that will remove online complaints for locksmith companies.

Brand.com – Where did Brand.com Go?

Where did Brand.com Go? Reputation Changer

Brand.com (ReputationChanger.com) – they came they saw they disappeared. This company was making a huge impression on the Reputation Management industry landscape. You couldn’t  turn around without bumping in to their content online. Then poof like “kaiser soze” the were gone.

bran-com

So who owns the $500.000 dollar domain name now? (That is the price it sold for when brand.com as a reputation management firm acquired it.).

A domain name investor with ties to China, that goes by the name Bill Ding.

Brand.com a domain that used to offer Reputation Management Services likely sold recently, was acquired by “Bill Ding” from the failed startup who acquired it for $500K and reported sold for $300K. I was told the domain was sold to an “end user” from Igloo.com who sold it but the domain has been listed on Sedo. Bill also owns domain names like Top.com, Companion.com and CFF.com to mention a few.

Brand.com sold in 2013 for a reported $500,000 to brand reputation company ReputationChanger.com but by early March 2015 the website went down and the offices for the company became empty.

banner_bgwow

Andrew at DomainNameWire.com had reported that the domain Brand.com was back up for sale on 2/20/2015 and the domain was parked with DomainNameSales.com on March 11, 2015 .

A very in-depth article also appears on March 11, 2015 about Brand.com and the things the writer found while visiting the empty offices and speaking with former employees.

Excerpt of aticle: “President and COO Mike Zammuto left the company in November. He’s now president of Chaikin Analytics. When reached for comment, Zammuto wrote at length about his excitement about joining Chaikin Analytics and how Philly’s finance-technology community is promising. “I think FinTech is going to be the big thing for a while,” he wrote in an email.

He declined to elaborate on the circumstances surrounding his departure from Brand.com, citing a separation agreement.

The company lost 70 staffers in 2014 through layoffs and turnover, a former staffer who asked not to be named told us. Another former exec, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the staff had shrunk to 60 when he left last fall.?”

Remove Online Complaints and Reviews

Remove Bad Reviews & Online Complaints

There are hundreds of possible ways your name, brand, or business can be harshly reviewed online and usually in the form of a nasty review or complaint site submissions. There are several top complaint sites you do NOT want to be on and there are dozens of other sites that attract and thrive off of consumer complaints.

Complaint sites like Rip-Off Report and USAComplaints.com make money when new complaints are added to their website, so they LOVE it when a consumer gets pissed and leaves a scathing review for your business. Negative content like complaints (Humiliating Content) gets ranked higher in Google than “regular” content. This brings in Web Traffic and more traffic, means more advertising revenue. In short, complaint sites profit from your misfortune in one way or another.

banner_bgwow

If you have done your research you know that you can not force many if any of these complaint sites to remove these negative mentions of your business. THEY DON’T HAVE TO LEGALLY! (CDA SEC. 230).

So how do you fight negative reviews and complaints? Well the only way to deal with MOST complaints is to first and foremost see if you can satisfy the person complaining to stop them from posting more digital graffiti about you. Second, you need to fight back with positive content and force the complaints off of page one of Google and search results. This is easier said than done these days. Google is getting smarter and smarter after each search algorithm update. You have to be really creative and very aggressive when trying to remove complaints from the top of Google.

No matter what road you take, either doing your own content creation and online reputation management, or hiring a company like ReputationArmor.com – You are going to have to INVEST MONEY to get your good name back!

How much money and how quickly depends on what your goals are. We have been in the business since 2007 (seriously one of the first companies). We know what works and what helps. We know when all efforts will be in vein. If you need a free consultation – we will give it to you. We can run an entire campaign for you or just help you along the way.
